At the very
least we are expecting a ton of milk from this one. She has a
beautiful face, which is usually laughing at me as it runs away
at top speed...actually that's not fair; after being dragged to
every show all summer, she's finally become enamored of shoulder
scratches, and is downright affectionate--a typical laid-back
Hunk daughter. Unasccountably I never got 1st fresh pictures of
Celestial in 2009, but I hope to remedy that thsi next freshening.
Her udder is similar to her illustrious dam's (very high rear,
well extended fore, large teats placed a little too far to the
outside), with very good capacity for a first freshener. For

Dean) I had to keep this kid. Yes, she's my absolute least favorite
color, though with all the white, it really isn't so bad. And,
after all, her dam is very promising, her sire is doing great
things, and she is structurally very pleasing--but that's not
why I am keeping her. It's because, when she was 2 days old and
the bus with all the lovely ladies from the senior center stopped
across the street to watch the kids at play, I decided to pick
her up and take her over for a visit. I set her down in the aisle
of the bus and she strolled up and down, stopping to say hi to
each person along the way, and never turned a hair. I need more
personalities like that around here; we have waaaaay too many
prima donnas! Her name is the title character in one of the versions
of the fairy tale "Cinderella", in Itialian by Giambattista
Basile.For

When we unexpectedly
lost our keeper for 2008 from our lovely Party, Karen Elliot of
Black Duck Farm was kind enough to let us buy back her sister,
and my gratitude knows no bounds. Party Girl was the more elegant
and refined of the 2 sisters.

Named
for the Roman goddess of fire and the hearth...and thank goodness
she did not remain a virgin. Vesta has the trademark stretch and
style we always see in Kestrel's kids, plus the very tight shoulders
and elbows that Hal reliably produced. When Judge Barb Norcross
nemaed her Best Junior Doe in Show in New Boston, 2009, she remarked
that Vesta strolled around the ring like a runway model. She's
well aware of how beautiful she is. She's the second Best Doe
in Show we've had who failed to win a leg for her efforts. Oh,
well. Vesta's
first udder is pretty much all I could have hoped for, and I expect
her to be spectacular when she is mature. For more photos and

Vesta
will be on lease for the

Another
long, elegant, striking Hunk daughter. Described by Lynn Fleming as
"the most beautiful Nigerian Dwarf doe I have ever seen,"
just before she awarded her the Best Jr Doe in Show rosette in Windsor,
Maine, May, 2009. Breathtaking and extremely unfriendly!! She has
calmed down considerably since she kidded and joined the milking string.
Her
udder is a joy to milk, with outstanding attachments and huge teats.

One of
several kiddings that resulted from multiple Max/Rebel/Pirate breakouts...Max
turns out to be the proud daddy. This kid is both bewitching
to look at and very, very loud. For

Rhiannon

our first Max daughters, and she is a beauty. Ariadne had a banner
