Dean) I had to keep this kid. Yes, she's my absolute least favorite
color, though with all the white, it really isn't so bad. And,
after all, her dam is very promising, her sire is doing great
things, and she is structurally very pleasing--but that's not
why I am keeping her. It's because, when she was 2 days old and
the bus with all the lovely ladies from the senior center stopped
across the street to watch the kids at play, I decided to pick
her up and take her over for a visit. I set her down in the aisle
of the bus and she strolled up and down, stopping to say hi to
each person along the way, and never turned a hair. I need more
personalities like that around here; we have waaaaay too many
prima donnas! Her name is the title character in one of the versions
of the fairy tale "Cinderella", in Itialian by Giambattista
Basile.For

When we unexpectedly
lost our keeper for 2008 from our lovely Party, Karen Elliot of
Black Duck Farm was kind enough to let us buy back her sister,
and my gratitude knows no bounds. Jubilee was the more elegant
and refined of the 2 sisters. In this photo she is partially milked
out; we will try to get a better one before winter closes in.

(Left

Described by Lynn Fleming as "the most beautiful Nigerian Dwarf
doe I have ever seen," just before she awarded her the Best
Jr Doe in Show rosette in Windsor, Maine, May, 2009. As a kid she was breathtaking
and extremely unfriendly, but has calmed down considerably since
she kidded and joined the milking string. Her
udder is a joy to milk, with outstanding attachments and huge teats.

One of
our first Max daughters, and she is a beauty. Ariadne had a banner
year in 2008, appraising EEEE 91 and finishing her ARMCH at the
age of 9 years young. Ariane appears to be following in her dam's footsteps, appraising 90 as a second freshener and we only expect her to improve from here. For

Dean) Apogee is a total
love. Thanks so much to Tamara and Kalee for letting me have her! She had a very successful show career as a yearling, consistently
winning large classes and racking up several reserves before capturing
the coveted GCH. She has freshened with an udder that is pretty
uneven, but I am still hoping it will correct itself next time around.

(Photos

Halifax daughter out of one of my best young does; it's hard to
see how we could go wrong with this one. She is not a very cooperative
photo subject, however. For

(Photos
by Declan Dean) Egghead is the prettiest
daughter that Harley has ever given me, and she's turned out to
be just what I hoped for--a scaled up, stretched out version of
her dam. Obviously I didn't register her as Egghead, but I
have come to realize that's what she is going to be called, whether
I like it or not...that will teach me to give a kid a nickname;
sometimes they stick. As a yearling, she drew the comment "Wow,"
from our 2010 Linear Appraiser. For

More demure and biddable than her sister, but still a bit shy. Freshened
with a gorgeous udder (the photo does not do her justice). For

(Photo

pair of twin does. Like all of our Hal kids, she is elegant, stretchy,
and correct. Needs some remedial comportment lessons. Freshened
with mastitis on one side; that side never came into milk. Really
hoping I can get that one cleared up next time around. For

(Photos
by Declan Dean) I really wanted to see how this Flat Rocks/Stetson
cross would work out, although truth be told it's not an outcross
but actually a rather nice linebreeding on Alamo Messenger and one
of his daughters, Goodwood Mermaid. We now have 3 nearly identical
plain chocolate chami does with almost no white at all...and she
produced yet another generation of beautiful chocolate chami does
by Hunk this year. She
also produced a nearly flawless first udder. All this was enough to earn her the title of ADGA National Champion in 2011. In explaining why the judges chose do the almost unprecedented and award the National Champion medal to 2 year old Topaz, judge Lauren Acton said, "Yes, she's young, but that's her only flaw--she's young." High praise indeed. For more pictures and

I just
love this beautiful, sweet doe, sired by my favorite buck and in
my absolute favorite color. We tragically lost her dam last winter, and her brother this winter,
so I am even more grateful that I still have this doe in my barn. Freshened at 10 months old with a beautiful little (very little)udder,
though it is an appropriate size for a doe so young.

(Photos
by Declan Dean) In 2010 Tiger's L'ily gave me two gorgeous daughters,
sired by the best buck I probably ever owned. I am incredibly excited
about both of them. Naughty and her sister below both received lowish LA scores as first fresh does but the appraiser was very encouraging about their possibilities.

(Photos
by Declan Dean) Ishtar, the larger sister, freshened
with a very nice (though tiny) udder, but not quite the body that
her sister has. Both of them have proven very difficult to photograph,
due to that irritating bottle baby twist and wiggle.
